Winterläufe is an 8K race that is held on the first Saturday in February and attracts more than 700 participants. The course starts behind Zehnder's Restaurant and takes participants on a winding scenic route to the 1904 Gugel Bridge and then returns downtown.

There are numerous free parking options in downtown Frankenmuth within close proximity, such as behind Fischer Hall, Zehnder's Restaurant, Bavarian Inn Restaurant, and the Chamber of Commerce. The Zehnder's parking lot is the closest to the start line.
