The first road race of the year takes runners on a scenic tour through the beautiful countryside and over the historic 1904 Gugel Bridge. The USATF-certified event concludes with a festive awards ceremony.
The Winterläufe is hosted by the Frankenmuth Jaycees, and all proceeds go to charitable causes.

Registration after Saturday, January 25 cannot be guaranteed a Dri-Fit race shirt.

Packet pick-up and onsite registration is located at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant in the Family Crest Room, near the race start line. Registration will be open from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 31, and opens at 8:00 AM the morning of the race. Registration closes a half hour before the start of the individual race.
The Winterläufe recognizes overall competitors including masters male and female in the 8K run and walk and the top three finishers in each age category. Awards are in a traditional German theme.
Age Groups: 1-13, 14-17, 18-23, 24-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over
Absentee awards will not be mailed, but will held for pick up at the Frankenmuth Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau until January 1 of the following year.The Jaycees are a volunteer leadership organization consisting of civic-minded individuals between the ages of 21-41. All proceeds from the Winterläufe, as with all Jaycee fundraising events, are donated to local charitable causes.
There are numerous free parking options in downtown Frankenmuth within close proximity to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.
